Education:
Mr. Hoss graduated from Dension University, Ohio in May 1997. He received his Juris Doctor from University of Memphis in May, 2001. He has also taught as an adjunct professor at Chattanooga State Technical Community College for various paralegal courses. |

Experience:
Upon graduation from Denison University with a Bachelor of Arts in English & History, Mr. Hoss worked as a clerk in the Hamilton County District Attorneys Office assisting prosecutors in criminal court. Since joining Davis & Wallace, PC in August 2001, he has represented hundreds of individuals who have been charged with crimes in courts in Tennessee, Georgia and in Federal Court. From First degree murder, driving under the influence to drug crimes in Federal Court, Mr. Hoss has actively tried jury trials in both state and federal court. Mr. Hoss concentrates his practice in the areas of criminal litigation but also represents clients in the areas of personal injury, workers compensation and medical malpractice. Additionally, Mr. Hoss has argued both civil and criminal cases on appeal before the Tennessee Court of Appeals and the Sixth Circuit. On January 1, 2005, Mr. Hoss became a partner in the firm Davis & Hoss, PC. Mr. Hoss is currently licensed in state and federal court in Tennessee and Georgia. |
Honors and Awards:
While at the University of Memphis, Mr. Hoss received the award of Merit for Outstanding Trial Advocacy at the National Trial Competition for outstanding achievement in trial advocacy in 2001. He also is the recipient of the Professor Joe A. Moore Award for his outstanding achievements emphasizing oral advocacy and a member of the Moot Court Board. Presently, Mr. Hoss is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys and American Inns of Court. |
Personal:
Mr. Hoss is a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Mr. Hoss currently resides on Signal Mountain with his wife Courtney, who is also an attorney at Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, and their daughter Campbell. |
